More cooking with wine!

My last cooking adventure involved Jennie Wade White, this one, Devil’s Den Red!  I chose Devil’s Den Red, because it is Hauser Estate’s semi-sweet table wine and I felt it would go nicely with chocolate.  Other reds, however, may work.  Experimentation is always fun!

Baking is such an exact science that I decided that I would need to find a generic brownie recipe that I could exchange the water into wine.  No spiritual pun intended, but once you taste these brownies…you will think they are from heaven!

1/2 C Butter
1 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1/3 C Cocoa Powder
1/2 C Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/3 C Devils Den

Oops…forgot to put the vanilla in the picture.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a small or 8X8 baking pan.

Melt the butter and then remove from heat.

Melt Butter

After removing the butter from heat, stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and Devil’s Den Red.

The ingredients…with the most important one – Devil’s Den Red!

Stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla and Devils Den Red

Beat in  flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder.

Adding dry ingredients.

Beat the ingredients.

Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

Ready to Bake

While you are waiting…

And enjoy!

Delish Devil’s Den Brownies

These did not  last long at our house.  They were made at 2 pm and gone by 10pm!

Bon Appetite and Cheers!
