First Friday is right around the corner!

First Friday has become a Gettysburg tradition.  The Gettysburg Area Retail Merchants Association (GARMA) created the event eight years ago.  Area  stores and restaurants (and wineries!) offer specials, promotions, and host special events the first Friday of each month.  Each month the businesses unify themselves under a theme and September’s theme is APPLES!

At our wine shop at 17 on the Square, we are having two promotions and an artist reception.  We are offering 15% off three or more bottles of our Apple Wine as well as 15% off  cases our ever popular Jack’s Hard Cider!

Our September’s Artist Reception  is titled Simply Countryside.   Anne Zabawa will be presenting her photography from August 14 through the month of September on the walls of the Hauser Estate wine shop, at  17 onthesquare.

Stop in and say hello to Anne Zabawa on  September 7 between 5:00 and 8:oo pm as she visits with Hauser’s guests for an Artist’s  meet and greet.
For the past twelve years, Anne has been the creative backbone behind Biggerstaff’s catering, based out of the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg. (visit  www.biggerstaffscatering.com) Anne’s creative endeavors have not only helped Biggerstaff’s catering present beautiful displays for the many weddings and special private events that have come their way, but also for events involving past White House chef Walter Scheib, country music singer Trace Adkins, and Country Music group Lady Antebellum.
Although Anne has stretched her creativity in a few directions and mediums, she has always had a love for the rustic country side.  Taking memories from her childhood experiences on the family farm and her more recent experiences here in Gettysburg,  Anne has compiled a series of country side photos that reflect her longstanding love for the rustic, sometimes overgrown beauty that can be found in the simple landscape.  Anne’s most recent piece took first place in the adult photography section of the Historic Gettysburg Adams County 2012 Barn Art Show.
Biggerstaff’s Catering will be adding to the meet and greet with a few simple delicacies from Biggerstaff’s Pantry.  Come join Anne Zabawa, on September’s First Friday at the Hauser Estate wine shop in Gettysburg, for a relaxing evening of free wine tastings, refreshments and Simply
Countryside.
