A couple weeks ago, I made it to a girls night out. The hostess greeted me and promptly took me to the bar where she said…”it’s sips and dips, dig in!” Her bar was filled with five or six dips, items to dip with and, of course, wine! On my way home that night, I started to think about how great her idea of sips and dips had been…and a blog was born! So next time you want to have a wine and cheese party change it up and have a sips and dips! To get inspired, check out below!
Classic hummus made with chickpeas and tahini is one of the most popular middle eastern dishes. When pairing the creamy dip, try a crisp Chardonnay or a Pinot Gris. Our 2010 Chardonnay with its slight hint of honey would make a nice accompaniment.
Seven layer dip is a tricky appetizer to pair because its seven layer make it very complex. A Pinot Gris would make the right pairing for those layer! At Hauser Estate, we will finally be releasing a Pinot Gris…very soon!
Spinach Dip, one of my favorites, can be creamy and sometimes have a bit of bite, which would lend itself well to Jennie Wade White!
If you need to have Jack’s Hard Cider on the menu, try it with a sweeter dip. Apple dip with apples and a Jack’s would be tasty!
With any wine pairing, it is fun to see what happens! Good luck and let us know if you come up with a great pairing for Hauser Estate Wines!
