With some sun and some rain, the grapes have started to grow.
For the past week or so, we have been shoot thinning. Shoot thinning is one of the canopy management techniques we use to keep our vines healthy and disease free. Basically, if there are too many shoots together, the airflow and sun do not get to the fruit and the leaves. Sunshine and air movement are very important to the growth of a healthy vineyard. So we will be working hard in the vineyard to make sure those baby grapes get all the warmth and air they need!
